Introduction
Events don't just happen; they need advance planning. To start with, make sure you are clear about your goals. Do you mainly want to:
- Raise Money?
- Get a particular film shown?
- Educate your audience?
- Launch a series or test the waters for a possible repeat event?
Or, if you have other aims, define them.
Once you have established this and written up a list of your goals, you are ready to proceed. Your goals may be established by yourself, a group, or a board, but to put them into practice efficiently you need to have a focus person or Program Co-ordinator, someone who will take responsibility for the execution of your plan and see to all the myriad details that need to come together to make your goals an event.
